POLICE yesterday launched a manhunt operation against the men who shot and killed a villager and hurt two of his relatives at Sitio Migkawan, Barangay Bayanga, this city, on Sunday evening.
Senior Insp. Allan Engracia Curato, Lumbia police chief, identified the victim as Tony Nacalaban, 28, of Dansolihon.
Wounded were Roldan Hulbin, 36, and Nelbert Nacalaban, 29, of Bayanga and Dansolihon, respectively.
Curato said the gun attack was carried out by three bonnet-wearing men at around 9 pm Sunday when the victims were heading home.
Nacalaban was declared dead on arrival at the JR Borja City Hospital. He succumbed to multiple gunshot wounds,
Hulbin is still confined at the hospital at presstime while the other victim was discharged from the hospital because his wounds were relatively slight.
Police said the group that carried out the attack was armed with at least one M-16 rifle.
Curato said the police now have a list of suspects who turned out to be relatives of Nacalaban.
He declined to elaborate but said it was “revenge,” and that Nacalaban and the suspects had quarreled in 2014.
